Social Bowling

We want you to make the most of our fantastic green and setting, so we have made sure that there are plenty of opportunities to play socially for all of our members at all times of the season.

Roll Ups

The club is open every day of the week for roll ups, just make sure to ring ahead to check rink availability and play as long as you want. You don't need to be a member of the club to roll up but if you are not a member green fees do apply - £5 for 1hr, £8 for 2 hrs.

Bowls Drive
The bowls drive is a great place to start out for new and lesser experienced players. It is a friendly and popular game every Wednesday morning at 10am aimed at beginners. It's designed to get people into playing a game, and to gather some experience rather than just having a few ends rolling up. Players draw their rink and position out of a hat and are teamed up with other similar players. These 4's then play another drawn 4 and so on. The drive is a brilliant way to get to know other members while gently improving the standard of your game. At the end of the season there is a friendly final played by the top scoring players and a trophy awarded to the winning team.

Mixed Triples League
The mixed triples league is a friendly internal league run on Friday evenings at 5:45pm starting in May.

Visiting Club Friendlies
Throughout the year we have touring bowls clubs who are holidaying locally come to play friendlies at Broadstone. These are always well attended and very social as the games are always played in the spirit of having a good time and not taking things too seriously. Like the Bowls drive this is another great opportunity to meet new people from across the club and to get a taste of what its like to play a full game against an outside team.

In House Club Competitions
We have a range of men's, ladies and mixed internal club competitions run throughout the outdoor bowling season. We have all sorts to choose from: men's singles, ladies singles, mixed singles, ladies drawn triples, mixed pairs, men's 2 wood triples, ladies 2 wood singles, men's handicap pairs, ladies championship pairs, men's handicap singles, men's championship singles, ladies drawn pairs, and many more.

Thursday Evening Coaching

The club runs coaching sessions from mid May every Thursday evening starting at 6pm, run by our coach Lyn Howard. We provide 4 weeks of free coaching for all prospective new members to try their hand at the game and have coaching available all season for any of our existing members should they want to brush up on any aspect of their game.
