Ladies & Gentlemen
I am giving everyone early notice of a number of key officers retiring from their positions relating to the above, as follows:
· PBBA Secretary / Treasurer – Alec McKenzie – after 14 years’ service
· Tournament Secretary – Chris Dennis – after 3 years’ service
· Tournament Administrator – Alan Hardy – after 12 years’ service
I feel sure that you will all agree that the above have given excellent service over a number of years. The future of both the PBBA & Poole Open Tournament are therefore not viable unless new officers are appointed to fill the above key officer positions. Each of the above retiring officers are available to provide a proper handover of duties and are available to discuss the roles to any interested party.
THERE WILL BE NO FUTURE UNLESS INDIVIDUALS COME FORWARD TO TAKE ON THESE ROLES.
Annual General Meeting
This year’s AGM has been arranged to be held at Dolphin Indoor Bowling Club on Thursday 27 October 2022 starting at 7pm. This gives a period of 6 weeks for interested parties to come forward to express interest for seeking election for the above key roles. In the event that sufficient interest is not shown by this date the existing officers plus appointed Poole club representatives will make a decision to close down both the PBBA and advise the required bodies that no tournaments will be held both during 2023 and beyond.
All affiliated members of the various Poole bowling clubs are invited to the AGM.
As the current PBBA financial year ends on 31 October 2022 AGM papers will be sent out at a later date.
Your existing officers all remain very hopeful that a new team will come forward in order that the PBBA and Open Tournament, which will be 57 years old next year, continues and enjoyed by future generations to come.
